JCCC Theatre courses—great electives for any major!
Many students enroll in JCCC’s Theatre courses before setting foot on stage. Our program is a place where you can try something new, fulfill an elective requirement and discover a passion for the arts.
At JCCC, you’ll learn from faculty comprised of educators and professionals with real world experience, dedicated to furthering your skills in theatrical arts.
Endless opportunities to craft a stage-worthy portfolio
Develop your skills in acting or production with 4-5 shows produced each season. Build your portfolio through on-stage performances, production management, set design, and costume construction.
Our stages in the Midwest Trust Center include Bodker Black Box Theatre—reserved exclusively for Academic Theatre students—and Polsky Theatre. These spaces house remarkable backstage facilities, including our scene, paint, and costume shops; props loft; and student green room.
Participate in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF). Past students have taken part in the Irene Ryan Acting Auditions, attended numerous workshops, and entered student work for competition.
Take advantage of our extensive offering of performance and technical classes, including Stage Directing and Management, Voice and Speech, Improvisation, Movement for the Stage, Stage Combat, and Business of Acting.
