Dr. Judy Korb
Interim Johnson County Community College President
Dr. Judy Korb has served the College in various capacities for more than 34 years. She most recently was Interim Executive Vice President of Student Success and Engagement. She served as Executive Vice President of Instruction and Operations from 2013 to 2017. She left her executive role in 2017 to start a consulting business but stayed connected to JCCC as an adjunct professor for the Business department, and holds the title of Executive Vice President, Emerita, Instruction and Operations.
As a senior administrator at JCCC for more than 10 years, Dr. Korb provided leadership to many key areas of the College, including serving as the Director of Staff and Organizational Development. She also spent seven years as the Program Director for Seminars and Special Events in the Center for Business and Technology at JCCC. Her responsibilities included planning and implementing a comprehensive schedule of non-credit seminars and classes to bring companies in the Kansas City metropolitan area the latest concepts and skills in professional development.
She also worked as a consultant in Johnson County Community College’s Small Business Development Center, assisting area entrepreneurs in developing business plans, creating and analyzing financial statements, conducting feasibility studies and providing general management advice. As a full-time professor at JCCC, Dr. Korb taught Accounting and Human Relations. She began her career at JCCC as part-time administrative assistant.
In her consulting role as a certified executive leadership coach, Dr. Korb works with leaders in business and higher education to increase effectiveness. As an organizational development consultant, she facilitates planning sessions, meetings and training for companies and colleges. She also delivers training in strategic planning, interpersonal communication, leadership, organizational change and organizational development. Most recently, she was Interim Dean of Career and Technical Education at Washburn University Institute of Technology.
Dr. Korb has a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership/Organizational Behavior from the University of Kansas, a master’s degree in business from Webster University, a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/business from Mid-America Nazarene University and an associate degree in business from JCCC.
