Examine the relationships between wellness and lifestyle behaviors that affect daily health, both directly and indirectly. Understand how internal organs, muscles, joints, and nerves interact to create movement. Learn how to instruct fitness, nutrition, and health goals to increase the effectiveness of the four foundations in fitness:

  • Stability/balance
  • Mobility
  • Power
  • Strength

You study exercise science, learn first aid and fundamentals of nutrition and community health – all to enhance overall physical well-being.

JCCC’s faculty has extensive experience in health, wellness, and athletic coaching and administration expertise. Personal wellness courses teach your health basics in a fun and personalized way.

JCCC is fully equipped with multiple indoor and outdoor state-of-the-art facilities, including:

Our Personal Training certificate program gives you the credentials to obtain a job in the fitness/wellness industry. Consider athletic training, sports management, or exercise science track to an associate degree.

Most careers in physical education and wellness require a bachelor’s degree or higher. Jump-start your future career by taking prerequisites and intro-level courses at a fraction of the cost at JCCC and set up for the next level with a bachelor’s degree at a 4-year school. Employment of fitness trainers and instructors is expected to increase by 19% between 2021 and 2031—an above average growth rate compared to other occupations—according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Bureau also reports that there are about 65,000 job openings for personal trainers and fitness instructors every year
