Dive deep into the technical aspects of web development with interactive coursework where you build, design, and program web pages. As a JCCC student, you will: 
  • Understand the basics of HTML and CSS. 
  • Discover how to make your work stand out with search engine optimization (SEO) and emerging web analytics.  
  • Develop a professional digital portfolio with professional branding through social media, a resume, and a cover letter. 
  • Master client-side web scripting using JavaScript and PHP.  
  • Learn how to use application programming interfaces (APIs) to quickly incorporate data into your websites.

With action-based experiences in every course, you’ll develop a stellar portfolio to wow potential employers

Whether you prefer code or content, build technical skills in JCCC's state-of-the-art computer and production labs. Create podcast and video content. Collaborate with colleagues in our fully equipped computer labs. 

Get paid to build your portfolio! After 12 hours, you'll be eligible to take on projects for paying clients as part of JC3 Innovations Student Agency. All proceeds go toward establishing scholarship programs for JCCC multimedia students.

Increase your marketability with an internship. Visit the Career Development Center for free help writing a resume, finding an opening, and preparing for an interview. 

Find your future in Web Development—an essential business need

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates careers in web development and digital designers will grow 16% by 2032. With your Web Development Certificate, you’ll be ready to launch your career as a web developer, user experience developer, or back-end developer.  

Add to your resume by earning additional certificates or an associate degree:

  • Web Development and Digital Media, AAS: Learn to successfully design and develop websites, web applications, user experiences, and digital content that will capture audiences in our increasingly mobile world. 
  • Digital Media Certificate: Gain experience in visual storytelling and digital media assets while learning web scripting, HTML, web analytics, and search engine optimization (SEO). 
  • Web Technologies Certificate: Learn valuable skills in HTML, web scripting, digital workflow and digital media concepts.
Continue even further and transfer to a 4-year school to build on your skillset. JCCC Transfer Information and Services has specific information on transferring your JCCC credits to another school. Make an appointment with an Academic Counselor to explore your options.

The JCCC Academic Resource Center offers free tutoring in almost any subject. Each of our Web Development classes is taught by professionals with valuable industry experience. Classes are limited in size—no large lecture halls here!
